MINUTES OF SPARC MEETING – FEBRUARY 3, 2017
7:30pm, the meeting was called to order by Bob – N2ESP, Club President. Pledge of Allegiance, introductions and acknowledgement of guests were made. Moment of Silence for Silent Key,Craig – K4YTB. Secretary’s Minutes for January are posted to the SPARC website. Treasure’s Report was given by Tom – AI4QP, Vice President’s Report was given by Ed – NZ1Q, Net Manager’s Report for both December 2016 and January 2017 were given by Rick, KK4WTE. Club Trustee Report given by Dave – KR4U, the ARRL RTTY Roundup for January had twelve participants and went well. February 11 and 12, the station will participate in the CQ WPX RTTY Contest. A new 1300 watt solid state amplifier was loaned to the club station. Dee – N4GD informed the membership that the club repeaters are working well and the membership voted to approve the purchase of a new BridgeCom Repeater to replace the aging 1.25 meter repeater. Tom – AI4QP gave the Membership Report, three new members, Edward – KN4AKD, Mike – KV0OOM and Larry – KM4KEJ were accepted by the membership. The VE Report was given by Donn – N4KII, three new Technicians from last month’s testing. All reports were accepted by SPARC members.
Old Business – The After Holidays Party was a success and had a good turn out with Vice President,
Ed – NZ1Q being this year’s SPARCPLUG Award recipient. Club membership dues are due. There will be a Ham Fest held on April 29th in Waldo, FL.
New Business – Thanks were given to Dee – N4GD for his actions on lowering the station’s new tower before a storm arrived in the area and for getting the gifts for the After Holidays Party. The next Executive Board Meeting will be held on February 25, 2017 at 2:00pm at the clubhouse located within the DMI Research building with all members welcome to attend. Bob – N2ESP, Dee – N4GD and Tom – NY4I were inducted into the ARRL “A-1 Operator Club.” Nominated by Dave, KR4U and George, W1AAG. Membership voted to order club emblem patches. Break was called at 8:00pm.
8:22pm, the meeting was called to order and the program for the evening was on CERT which was presented by Marsh – K2LXD and Andy – KI4VOS. Two new membership applications were received from Ken – KB4EVT and Jeff – NE4C. Meeting was closed at 9:16pm.
