Hal Chase W1EES is heading up the nominating committee to create a slate of officers for the next SPARC year. The way this works according to our bylaws is the committee comes up with a slate of candidates and presents them at the October meeting. At that meeting, we will accept nominations from the “floor” (Zoom will be our forum of course). Once the nominations are closed in October, there is no other opportunity for nominations. At the November meeting, we have the election.

This is revision 13, the latest release of the SPARC’s brochure used at meetings, events and VE exam sessions. One address received minor clarification. Prospective members are encouraged to take a look, print it to review or present to other prospective members.
Due to the impending bad weather, this Saturday’s (8/31/19) SPARC Executive Board meeting has been cancelled.
SPARC has made arrangements with a local uniform shop to supply custom-embroidered shirts for members. The shirts feature the embroidered club logo along with your first name and callsign. These are short-sleeve, collared pull-over shirts available in sizes from extra small to 5 XL. The shirt below is an example of the same shirt printed for the UPARC club in Palm Harbor. Of course, your shirt will have the SPARC logo.

At the November meeting of the SPARC Executive Board, members of the board voted to increase annual dues by $5.00 for each membership category required to pay dues. This makes an individual membership $20.00 and a family membership $25.00. SPARC has not had a dues increase in many years. As costs increase, so do the club’s financial obligations. In order to be fiscally responsible, a slight dues increase will keep our club in good financial shape.
