SUMMARY:Florida QSO Party
DESCRIPTION:  \nSPARC has registered to participate in the April 29 – 30\, 2023 Florida QSO Party (FQP) using the newly relocated and updated club station. The club has earned numerous First Place FQP Awards in the past – the most recent being in 2019 just before Covid. \nThe club is looking for the participation of everyone who wants to improve operating skills or learn about contesting on HF. Please note that all members can operate regardless of license class since Extra class operators will be present. In fact\, we have recently had an unlicensed person learn to operate and actually become proficient in making contacts during an operating event. She later earned her Technician license. \nWe do\, of course\, need as many experienced operators as we can get to carry the load in making contacts and provide a winning base while others are learning. They will also assist in training or teach by example while operating. \n  \nThe club station will utilize four operating positions – one for each band allowed in the contest. There will be two seats at each operating position – one for an experienced operator and one for a trainee. \n  \nWe also plan to have several training positions using audio tapes and laptop computers to allow participants to learn or refresh their knowledge of the N1MM operating interface prior to operating. These positions will be used for three nights of training prior to the contest. Everyone is encouraged to attend one of these sessions. The training aids will also be used on the day of the contest. \n  \nSign ups started at the last club meeting. I willl personally reply to each email received if you have questions or suggestions. \n  \nThere are many details that need to be shared. SUMMARY:Contest: CQ WPX SSB 2019
DESCRIPTION:The CQ WPX SSB contest is a great contest for people that liked the fun of contesting during Field Day. This is a 48 hour contest with exciting runs where we call CQ most of the time. If you have ever wondered what it was like on the other side of the pile-up\, this is the contest to find out. \nWe will use callsign NY4I which is a multiplier. That means other stations want to work us. Last year\, my first hour run was 200 stations per hour. It is hard to describe the adrenaline rush one feels when working stations that fast. We will start at 8:00 PM on Friday at the club station and go all through the weekend until Sunday night at 8:00 PM. We obviously need operators to do this level of contest. SPARC is inviting members of other clubs as well since we had so many people involved in our joint Field Day that liked working phone contests. \nRelated Images:

DESCRIPTION:The first RTTY contest in 2019 from W4TA is the ARRL RTTY Roundup which starts Saturday\, January 5th at 1800 UTC or 1:00 PM local.
