This weekend (May 1 and 2) is the “4 QSO parties in one” weekend.

This includes the New England QSO Party (6 NE states), 7th Call Area (8 states), Indiana and Delaware.

QSO parties are a great way to pick up states you need to WAS on different bands. With better propagation lately, you may even be able to get some 10 meter states.

Home Brew Night 2021

The February 5th, 2021 SPARC meeting is Home Brew Night. No, not beer. This is where you show off projects related to ham radio you have made this year. Time for SPARC Club Elections

Hal Chase W1EES is heading up the nominating committee to create a slate of officers for the next SPARC year. The way this works according to our bylaws is the committee comes up with a slate of candidates and presents them at the October meeting. At that meeting, we will accept nominations from the “floor” (Zoom will be our forum of course). Once the nominations are closed in October, there is no other opportunity for nominations. At the November meeting, we have the election.

This activity simulates what you would do if in a real emergency and you were relying upon bulletins from the ARRL for information. So it is a good skill to learn. To boot, you get 100 bonus points for doing it.

The bulletin is sent in multiple modes (CW, digital (RTTY, PSK31 and MFSK16) and phone. This starts at Friday night at 8:00 local time with … Click for more
